The Caspian «Blue Bay»
The Mangyshlak Peninsula is hundreds of kilometers of the rocky Caspian coast, countless kilometers of desert, and golden sandy beaches. One of these pearls is the Blue Bay. The beach with the Blue Bay is located in the south-west of the Mangyshlak peninsula, 80 kilometers from the city of Aktau, on the road to the city of Fort Shevchenko. Cape Sygyndy is located 15 kilometers south of the bay. The nearest village near the beach is Kyzylozen. The length of the beach is about 600 m, the width is about 35-40 m. Geographically, a small sea cove is formed by the converging mouths of Tulkili Canyon and the large Uzynkudyk gorge. At the beginning of the XX century, a fishing camp was located here under the name Tulkili, which means "fox place" in Kazakh. The beach of the Blue Bay merges with the extraordinarily beautiful bluish-whitish and golden sands of the Caspian Sea.
On the south side of the bay, on a rocky ledge, the remains of a small fortress wall of the medieval era have been preserved. On the northern section of the plateau there are the remains of a multi–track road left by the wheels of numerous cart-arbs in soft limestone. Information has been preserved that fish were transported on arbas along the coast for sale in Fort Shevchenko. Wild beach, unusual colored water, mysterious rocks with grottoes, spearfishing. The salinity of the water is 11-12 %. The transparency of the water is 10-12 m. The water is clean, there are cold currents. Tourists can go diving in the area.
The climatic conditions in this area are usually sunny all year round. Rains are very rare. This is one of the most popular places for tourists and residents of the region. The sandy beach is represented by modern proluvial deposits - with numerous shell fauna. In spring and summer, steppe plants and shrubs grow in the Blue Bay area, and there is a lot of wormwood filling the air with its smell. In autumn, you can pick berries and wild plants. Snakes, turtles, and lizards are often found.
