The monument was identified and examined in 2004 by the staff of the MGIKZ. The burial ground was first taken under state protection by the Decree of the Akimat of the Mangystau region No. 197 dated October 5, 2004.

Samal tract

The monument was identified and examined in 2004 by the staff of the MGIKZ. The burial ground was first taken under state protection by the Decree of the Akimat of the Mangystau region No. 197 dated October 5, 2004. Currently, by Decree of the Akimat of the Mangystau region No. 3 dated January 5, 2018, it is included in the State List of Historical and Cultural Monuments of local significance.

Fresh water downstream enters the spring. The length of the gorge is about 1.5 km. Rare and relict medicinal plants and trees grow along the spring. Some of them are listed in the Red Book of the Republic of Kazakhstan as endangered species. There are plenty of encampments of the Eneolithic and Early Iron Age around the gorge. The area of the gorge is 6 hectares.
