Mount Bozhyra

This monument was included in the list of sacred objects under the project of regional significance "Sacred Geography of Kazakhstan" within the framework of the program "Looking into the future: modernization of public consciousness".

Bozzhyra is a section of the chinka (side) of the Ustyurt plateau, where Mother Nature gave full freedom to her imagination, creating an unearthly landscape in white tones. The height is 250 m.

Historical data, legends, stories: For many hundreds of millions of years, this territory was the bottom of the ocean. However, sometimes the ocean retreated for short periods of time under the influence of the deep processes of the Earth. The retreating ocean eroded soft limestones along the cracks with giant waves, creating Cretaceous cuestas, canyons, and bizarre remnant mountains. Wind and rain streams completed the majestic creation of Nature. The small Bozzhirinsky valley is surrounded on three sides by an amphitheater of natural quirks. Everything is white here: canyons, peaks, tower mountains, castle mountains, yurt mountains. The Bozzhirinsky remnant mountains, like chameleons, change their appearance as they are traversed. Bizarre remnants, like silent guards, peer into the misty distance, preserving the peace of the majestic symbol of Mangystau – a giant stone yurt. Her only master is a lonely wind, mournfully singing steppe songs to the boundless skies.
