The Kyzylkup tract
The tract is located in the northern part of Mount Bokty. The Kyzylkup tract is a smooth low hills made of rocks of various colors, which alternate with each other, creating a fascinating sight. The color of the layers is given by impurities of various minerals. The white layers are made of chalk, while the red ones contain iron. Because of its unusual layered structure, the tract is often called "Tiramisu" by the people. The official name of the tract was derived from the reservoir, which was once located nearby. The slopes are steep, composed of white chalk, grayish-white sandstone mossy, crinoid limestones. Chalk-like marls, crimson and pink marls, clay limestones in the lower part form deluvial-proluvial plumes with numerous furrows and washouts. Rare and endangered animals and birds live here: four-striped poloz, steppe eagle, golden eagle, vulture, saker falcon, peregrine falcon, black-bellied grouse, owl, manul, Ustyurt mountain sheep, Caspian gecko, long-necked hedgehog. Kyzylkup tract is located 240 kilometers from Aktau city, 110 km from Zhanaozen city. Part of the route runs along an asphalt highway to the city of Zhanaozen, the distance to the village of Senek is 65 km.
