Karynzharyk depression

The Karynzharyk depression is located in the Mangystau region on the territory of the Ustyurt State Nature Reserve (75 m below sea level) at the foot of the western chinka of the Ustyurt plateau, separating it from Mangystau. Natural objects located within the boundaries of the protected area are protected by the state. The territory of the protected complex is 223,342 hectares, there are rare species of fauna and flora.

Visiting this natural attraction is especially interesting in the spring, and, indeed, at any other time of the year after the rain. After all, it was then that an amazing picture opens up to travelers from the ledges overhanging the border of the depression: the remnants of Onere, about 150 meters high, flaunting against the background of the water-salt mirror surface of Sora Kenderli. Mount Karamaya is located in the northern part of Sora Kenderli, the Onere spring flows into the salt marsh in the south, and the remains of the same name rise nearby. There are five outliers in total, three adjacent, located side by side, are popularly called "Three brothers" or "Three batyrs".

Due to the landscape features, during the rainy season and in the snow, the lower part of the mountain simply absorbs water thinly, and the upper part of the mountain dries out until the rains penetrate into it, forming soft salt marshes. Representatives of the mutton family of sheep live in this region. At the bottom of the depression is the popular Kenderly litter.
