Burkhan Bulak Waterfall
Burkhan Bulak Waterfall is located in the Dzungarian Alatau Mountains, in the gorge of the Kora River. Its total height is 168 m (551 ft), although its highest cascade is not visible from the ground. Its visible part, consisting of three cascades, is 114 m (374 ft) high. The waterfall is situated at an altitude of 2000 m (6500 ft) above sea level.
The Burhan Bulak River, which forms the waterfall, flows down from the Karatau Mountains. At the bottom of the waterfall, it hits a massive rocky ledge and forms a cloud of spray. Even on the hottest day, there is high humidity and comfortable temperature. Fir trees and Asian juniper trees, that grow here, exude a delicate aroma. This place is suitable for phytotherapy. No wonder it has an ever-growing popularity.
